some photos I took with a SEVENTY year old camera

Whilst on holiday with my parents in Bridgnorth, I found a really nice looking Kodak Box Brownie in an Antiques Centre. There's alot of them out there in varying conditions, but this one looked really nice, wasn't too expensive, and I hadn't used one before so I picked it up!

I dated to somewhere after 1953 making it a seventy year old camera! And it took 620 film which, at the time was specially produced for the Box Brownies but thanks to the folks at Film Photography Project you can now get fresh 620 film to put through these cameras.

I picked up a roll of colour and black and white film and whilst not every photo was perfect, for a seventy year old camera, I thought the results were really great! The photos were still really crisp and sharp and I loved the old aesthetic they had.

I really enjoyed using this camera, even though it was a little tricky to see what you were composing in the viewfinder, and buying the film and getting it processed was not cheap! You also only get 8 shots per roll of film so not much margin for error! But it was a fun camera to use! And I'd like to play with it again sometime.
